Thomas Swan & Co. Ltd. has appointed Dr. Tom Porter as the new Technical Manager for its Chemicals Business based in Consett, County Durham. Tom joined the company on the 28th September from Piramal Healthcare where he held the position of Head of Operations and Technology. Before working at Piramal Healthcare he was the New Product Manager for Contract Chemicals Ltd.

In his new role Tom is responsible for all technical activities at the company including management of the R&D Department, oversight of the Carbon Nanomaterials expansion programme and project assessment and technology transfer for the Custom Manufacturing Division.

Thomas Swan’s Managing Director, Harry Swan, commented: “I am delighted that Tom has joined Thomas Swan. He has brought extensive chemical manufacturing experience with him and is perfectly suited to support our growing Performance, Contract and Advanced Materials divisions.
