Carbon nanotubes are seamless, carbon cylinders which have unique mechanical and electronic properties. There are two major types of carbon nanotubes: single-walled (SWNTs) and multi-walled (MWNTs).

Since their discovery in 1991 there has been much published research on these exciting new materials: and now industrial applications are emerging which require a reliable, high quality supply of carbon nanotube materials. Thomas Swan is strongly positioned to supply high purity SWNTs and MWNTs through its range of Elicarb^® carbon nanotube products. These products are available today in quantities from gramme to multiple kilogrammes.

Elicarb^® SWNT

Elicarb^® SWNT A high quality single-wall/double-wall carbon nanotube powder, which has low inorganic residue of <5% w/w and typical nanotube contents of >90%. Typical nanotube dimensions are 2 nanometre diameter and ca. 1 micron in length.

Elicarb^® SWNT (AQ)

Elicarb^® SWNT (AQ) A high quality single-wall/double-wall carbon nanotube dispersion in water. The nanotube solids have low inorganic residue of <5% w/w and typical nanotube contents of >90%. Typical nanotube dimensions are 2 nanometre diameter and ca. 1 micron in length. Supplied as an aqueous wet cake for ease of formulation into aqueous and alcoholic formulations.

Elicarb^® MWNT A high quality multi-wall carbon nanotube powder, which has low inorganic residue of <5% w/w and typical nanotube contents of >70%. Typical nanotube dimensions are 10-12 nanometre in diameter and 10's of microns in length.
